Panoramic Ocean Views Perfect for St. Croix Sunrise

September 1, 2016

Point Udall

The first spot to see the sunrise in the United States.

One thing you must do when visiting St. Croix is to take the drive or ride to the East side of the island. Not only is the view stunning but the drive up is a must see for itself. It is quit a long, bumpy and curvy drive that you will be taking in the dark, so be cautious and give yourself plenty of time. It is a sunrise not to miss. And also neat to be able to say that you were the first to see the sunrise in the United States that day.

Reasons to visit:

  • The Millennium Monument was built in 2000 to commemorate the beginning of a new millennium for the United States.
  • This is the first place on American soil that sees the sunrise each day.
  • There is access to hike down to a secluded beach.
  • A scenic coastal drive there.
  • It’s free!
