Ready for our Thanksgiving feast

November 12, 2016

It is hard to believe that Thanksgiving is a little over a week away. I admit that we already have our Christmas decorations out because we love to soak up the season. Especially living in Florida, where you have to take an extra effort to feel immersed in the Holiday Season. I am not complaining, we love wearing sandals and sundresses for our family gatherings and flips with our pjs on the back porch watching holiday movies!

Holidays and special occasions are fun times to dress the kids in cute outfits to get some great photographed memories. We take advantage of the season by having photo sessions of our cuties. But another challenging part as a Floridian during the fall and winter holidays is finding cute themed clothes that are not long sleeves. Even pajamas can be a challenge. As I type this, we have the doors open to the lanai enjoying the cooler 70 degree weather. So I was excited to find a cute short sleeve dress for my little princess to wear on turkey day! I found this precious dress at the online boutique, The Hair Bow Company.  This shop seriously has so many cute items that you could get for any occasion and you won’t break your budget.

It looks like this awesome dress is no longer in stock, but there are so many other cute Thanksgiving options for you to order while you still have time. (The photos below came from The Hairbow Company online shop.)

And since Christmas is right around the corner, I have my eye on these cute Christmas outfits. Do you have any favorite online shops you like to get your kids holiday clothes from? Share in the comments!

We have our wardrobes decided. Now on to dinner plans. We decided this year that we want to mix things up a little bit to ensure the kids really enjoy the meal, can help prepare it and also actually eat the food. So we will have a finger food Thanksgiving feast! Our morning will start with our usual family tradition- baking a turkey with the tried ad true recipe from the Food Network’s Good Eats.

Wescreen-shot-2016-11-14-at-11-11-58-am have used this turkey recipe for 6 years now and I see no reason to change it. Check out the photos link for a great video series on how to Brine a Turkey and bake it perfectly.

Instead of the usual turkey with a multitude of casseroles and dressing, we will cut the turkey early and prepare turkey sandwiches that will pair with sweet potato fries, mac and cheese bites, broccoli cups, a cheese board and berries display!

What do you have planned for your Thanksgiving feast?
