Sqord is a social health company for kids that inspires, tracks, and rewards everyday “active play.”  Their goal is to get kids physically active by leveraging a combination of videogaming, kid-appealing wearable activity tracker and healthy social dynamics to make old-fashioned physical play awesome again. Sqord’s wrist-based accelerometer (Sqord Actvity Pod) and their fun virtual world mobile & web game allows kids to earn activity points and compete with friends and family members, unlocking more game features in the Sqord game app. The more they move the more features and points they earn. How did you come up with the idea for this product?

We wanted to find a way to both bring back the joy of unstructured play while also helping to lay the foundation of happier, healthier lives for today’s generation of kids.

What makes your product special?

Sqord is uniquely helping kids and families engage in experiences that are not only fun, but actually proven to lead to real improvements in health like increase physical activity- truly life-changing impact.

What has been the best part of your startup experience?

Seeing Sqord being used by kids in schools and homes across the US- huge smiles, running around, showing such incredible joy. Knowing that the kids, their parents and families, are getting healthier without even explicitly realizing it.
