18 Random Facts To Help You Know Me Better

August 30, 2021

I have always loved reading the “random facts” pages on other blogs because they make a person feel more real.

Not just the polished bio.
Not just the professional background.
Not just the highlight reel.

The little details are usually what make you feel like you actually know someone.

So here are 18 things to know about me — some fun, some meaningful, and some that explain why Acupful has become a place for simple wellness, family memories, motherhood, travel, home, and living life by design.

  1. Motherhood is my favorite
I have two kids, and being their mom is the most important part of my life.
  2. I believe in building a life by design, not by default.
That phrase has become a big part of how I see life now.
For me, Life By Design means being intentional with my health, my home, my routines, my money, my time, my work, and the memories I want to create with my kids.
It does not mean life is perfect. It means I am no longer just drifting through it.
  3. I started over when life looked nothing like I thought it would.
After my divorce, I had to rebuild my life in almost every way — emotionally, financially, professionally, and personally.
That season was hard, but it also taught me what I was capable of.
A lot of what I share now comes from that place: the belief that women can rebuild, become stronger, and create a life that feels like theirs again.
  4. I am not a part-time single mom.
I think this is an important part of my story because people often hear “single mom” and assume there is some level of shared responsibility, co-parenting, financial support, or built-in break.

—>That has not been my reality.
I have not had consistent support from their dad — emotionally, financially, or practically — and that changes the way you have to build your life.
    It changes your career choices.
    It changes your schedule.
    It changes your finances.
It changes how much pressure you carry.
It changes what “free time” looks like.
It changes the way you plan, save, work, parent, rest, and rebuild.

I do not share that for sympathy. I share it because it matters.
There is a difference between co-parenting after divorce and carrying the full weight of raising children while also trying to create stability, build a career, pay the bills, make the memories, and become the version of yourself your kids deserve to see.

That part of my story has shaped me in ways I cannot separate from the life I am designing now
  5. Home really matters to me.
After rebuilding my life, creating a peaceful home for my kids and me became really important.
Not a perfect home. Not a magazine home.
A home that feels safe, calm, cozy, lived in, and full of memories.
  6. I love family travel because it gives us uninterrupted time together.
Theme parks, cruises, Florida day trips, beach days, and random adventures are some of my favorite ways to make memories with my kids.
The older they get, the more I realize that travel is not just about the destination.
It is about having time together before this season changes.
  7. I will almost always choose a hotel based on the pool and lobby.
    I care about the vibe.
If the pool is great, the lobby feels pretty, and the location works for us, I am probably interested.

  8. I’m a Florida girl now, but I will always have a little Southern girl in me.
I grew up in Tennessee and went to Mississippi State, so the Southern part of me is not going anywhere.
But Florida has become home, and I love the sunshine, the palm trees, the golf cart life, and raising my kids in a place that feels like a fresh start.
  9. I’m “mostly” alcohol-free, and it changed more than I expected.
Choosing to stop drinking has been one of the best decisions I have made for my health, energy, skin, sleep, mindset, and peace. It was not about becoming a completely different person. It was about realizing I felt better without it. I still have casual drinks from time to time when on vacation, but overall it’s no longer part of my life.
  10. I drive a JEEP and a Cart.
And honestly, both fit my life perfectly.
    The Jeep feels like freedom.
The golf cart feels like community.
  11. I HATE doing laundry.
    I wish I had a meaningful life lesson here, but I don’t.
    I just really hate laundry.
  12. I love making ordinary things feel special.
    A themed gift.
    An over the top party.
A unique to us holiday tradition.
A cozy movie night with decorations, a theme and special socks.
    A seasonal table.
    A family trip countdown.
A small surprise for the kids.
I have always believed that the little things become the memories.
  13. Fitness has become one of the ways I take care of myself.
I have always been active, but in this season of life, fitness feels different.
It is not just about how I look. It is about feeling strong, having energy, managing stress, staying healthy, and proving to myself that I can keep showing up.
  14. I’m a runner, but I still have to talk myself into some runs.
I love the feeling after a run.
Before the run? That can be a different story.
But running has taught me a lot about discipline, mental strength, consistency, and doing hard things one step at a time.
  15. My wellness routines are simple on purpose.
I do not want complicated routines that I cannot keep up with.
Most of the time, I am focused on the basics: hydration, protein, movement, sleep, supplements that fit my life, simple skincare, and habits that actually feel sustainable.
  16. I love tacos, protein treats, and fancy drinks.
I still love food that feels fun.
I just try to build my everyday choices around what makes me feel good, not what makes life feel restricted.
  17. I have worn a lot of hats.
Global Marketing Director. Professional Speaker. Magazine Columnist. Business owner. Middle School Teacher. Cross Country Coach. Yearbook advisor. Event Planner at Disney World. Content creator. Mom.
  18. Acupful has grown up with me.
When I started blogging, I was in a completely different season of life.
Now, Acupful is becoming the place where all the pieces connect — motherhood, wellness, family travel, home, routines, rebuilding, and creating a life with intention.
It is stil about keeping your cup full.
But now I understand that keeping your cup full is not just about adding more.
Sometimes it is about choosing less chaos, more peace, better habits, deeper memories, and a life that finally feels like your own.
