Palm Beach County is often referred to as The Palm Beaches. An interesting fact about this Southeast area of Florida is that it is the largest county southeast of the Mississippi River! Palm Beach County, has 39 distinctive cities and towns, which are divided into 15 distinct districts. These are Palm Beach and Worth Avenue, Clematis Street, CityPlace, Convention & Entertainment District, Antique Row, Northwood Village, Palm Beach Gardens, Jupiter/Juno Beach, Lake Worth, Delray Beach, Downtown Boca Raton, Wellington, Boca Town Center and Glades Road, Lake Okeechobee as well as Boynton Beach.
With 47 miles of pristine Atlantic coast beaches, I decided to spend a few days with my daughter on Singer Island and I cannot wait to go back to see more. Before I get into the details of what we did, I want to share a great place to stay with kids when visiting the beaches of Palm Beach County.
We took a quick mother-daughter getaway to Palm Beach Florida. It was nice to spend one on one time with my little mini-me. We stayed at the Palm Beach Marriott Singer Island Beach Resort & Spa and it ended up being a perfect hotel for us for a number of reasons. In addition to its oceanfront location in the heart of Palm Beach, FL, it provides so much space and convenience in the rooms that anyone traveling with kids will feel comfortable.
All suites at Palm Beach Marriott
Contemporary condominium-style suites allow for work and play in equal measure, with nicely equipped kitchens making it easy to bring groceries for meal preparation. In the kitchens are full-size fridge, a stovetop and microwave w/plates, silverware, etc. There is a bar with seating for four. Though we did not need it for a three-day trip, there is a washer/dryer in each hotel suite which would be very useful for a week’s stay for the entire family.
The living room is large with a sofa and a chair plus a flat-screen TV. The bedrooms are either one or two-bedroom. We had one bedroom with a king-sized bed since it was just us two on this trip. The bedrooms are large with a desk, walk-in closet, and a spacious balcony. The bed is comfortable with plenty of pillows and deluxe bedding. The bathroom is huge with a separate tub, shower, and toilet room.
Dining at Palm Beach Marriott
There is one main restaurant, 3800 Ocean offers oceanfront Palm Beach dining with tables indoors as well as outdoors. We dined here for dinner one night. I had the filet mignon, lobster mac and cheese and truffle fries. The kids menu offers a variety of kid-friendly options.
Other food options are available for lunch: Reef Tiki Bar and the Lagoon Pool Cantina. There is also a coffee and bakery shop off the lobby serving some Starbuck’s coffee and freshly made pastries. My daughter enjoyed a huge cupcake one evening!
Of course, this hotel provides you with the perfect opportunity to bring your own groceries to help the family budget by preparing some of your own meals in the nice, fully equipped kitchen. There is a Publix a few minutes down the road and a huge Whole Foods about 20 minutes away.
TIP: It is important to note that you will need a car (or plan for taxis) to really get to enjoy the area or experience additional dining options so keep that in mind if you are flying in.
Pools and Beach at Palm Beach Marriott
There are two pools at the Palm Beach Marriott Resort. While both pools are beautiful, the lagoon pool is perfect for kids with the zero entry, large shallow end, and a fun water slide. There is a bar and cantina restaurant at the lagoon pool serving a small but hearty menu. The bar offered a full menu but the drinks were pricey for a pool bar. My mudslide, though delicious set me back $17! The other pool is known as the infinity pool and more of an adult area with a calmer vibe. This is where you will find the hot tub as well. This pool closes at sunset, so evening swimming takes place in the lagoon pool.
The beach that the hotel sits on is beautiful! There is a cubby for leaving your shoes at the beach entrance. And also a large bin full of sand toys free for hotel guests to use.
Spa and Fitness at Palm Beach Marriott
The spa is amazing at the Palm Beach Marriott. From massages to facials, you will have a relaxing experience that starts with champagne and ends with a steam room, steam shower or hot tub, and some downtime in the relaxation room. I enjoyed a Swedish massage while my daughter was entertained in the kids club…true paradise for a busy mom!
