This year was LEGOLAND Florida’s 10 Year Anniversary and just so happens to be my son’s 10th birthday. So we decided to take a quick road trip to celebrate entering the double-digits and chose to go back to LEGOLAND BEACH RETREAT. And the crazy thing is we were given the exact same bungalow that we had 4 years ago!
The hotel rooms are actually little “cabins,” designed to look like larger-than-life LEGO sets, the property has 83 single-story LEGO bungalows. The bungalows are arranged in horseshoe-shaped groups that the hotel calls coves. Each cove is named for a LEGO Minifigure.
We stayed here for their grand opening back in 2017 –> read all about the LEGOLAND Beach Retreat first look experience here <–
Since this was quick trip for the sole purpose of celebrating Conner’s birthday, I brought along some party decorations to add to the fun! We got to the hotel early to enjoy the pool, dinner at Sandy’s Castle, and went to bed early so we could be rested for a full day at LEGOLAND theme park and water park.
Happy 10th Birthday Conner & LEGOLAND
LEGOLAND Florida and my son just hit a big milestone, celebrating 10 years! LEGOLAND Florida opened in October of 2011! But they had a year long of celebratory activities for guests to enjoy. Like this massive lego cake. My son thought it was fun to see have 10 years everywhere on his birthday!
Even though they are several years older from when we visiting last, they still had a blast. Unfortunately they will be outgrowing LEGOLAND soon, but for now as 7 and 10 year olds they had a good time. This age is where their humor really starts coming out, so they were so silly with all the little lego structures.
LEGOLAND WATERPARK IS WORTH ADDING ON TO YOUR PARK ADMISSION
During the season, the LEGOLAND waterpark is worth going to. It is not huge but it is definitely a favorite of my kids. Between the lazy river, wave pool and large water structure they can easily spend half a day here. I really wish you could get just a water park admission and skip the theme park part. But the waterpark is located all the way in the back, so you do have to walk through half the theme park to access the waterpark entry.
TIP—> Don’t forget extra clothes. Bring an extra pair for the kids, a towel, and a swimsuit for the water park or mini splash area. The water park has lockers that you can rent where you can store your belongings while playing in the water. And they have a cool human size dryer, so you can quickly dry off and continue your fun in the park!
After a full day in the park we decided to hang out at the original Legoland Florida hotel. Even though Legoland Florida is in an area of its on, away from all other Central Florida attractions, they plan activities at the hotel to keep you busy and entertained. My kids love to do the master builder class.(You must sign up for this as soon as you check in because the classes fill up quick!)
After the class we went down to enjoy s’mores in the wooded area by the lake. A short walk from the pool. There was no additional fee to enjoy this! It was the perfect ending to a quick LEGOLAND vacation!
