I am getting the itch for a cruise vacation. I thought this would be a good time to share one of my favorite cruise excursion spots. We have taken over 20 cruises; many docked in Mexico. But my absolute favorite way to spend a day in Cozumel is to visit Nachi Cocom! I love this place so much that we have chosen this as our cruise excursion three or four times.
Nachi Cocom is an all inclusive beach club. Honestly it looks like something out of a Corona ad. For $55 per person you get one day access to a full open bar with unlimited domestic and premium brands including bottled beer, wine, cocktails, sodas, juices and bottled water. You will have a large menu provided to have a delicious 4 course lunch either at their restaurant or served at your beach chairs. You will also have use of all the club facilities: in addition to the restaurant there is a beachfront pool, Jacuzzi, bathrooms, and hammocks. There are complementary lounge chairs for everyone but if you arrive early you will be able to snag an straw umbrella!
They also offer water sports and massages for an additional cost. The water sports are a good value. I have experienced their parasailing with a group and can testify that you stay in the air for much longer than any other destination I have para-sailed at. One visit I got a massage. There are small cabanas set up for the private massage sessions at one end of the beach club providing an undisturbed view of the beautiful water.
And since I am a sucker for a picture opportunities, I bought the picture that they snapped with us wearing sombreros as we walked in each time! So it is not just a beach club with a bar, it is a day full of experiences.
The services has always been fabulous. You will get one waiter assisting you the entire day and they always do a great job keeping the drinks flowing. I remember our server’s name one year (Carlos) because her was so attentive that when our drinks got almost empty here he came with a new one.
Speaking of food, I highly recommend the guacamole and the chicken fajitas. I actually craved them for days after because they had such a lasting impression on me.
The only negative thing I can say about it is that though the place opens at 9am (Cozumel time) the bar doesn’t start serving till 10am and the kitchen doesn’t open till 11am. I know you may think, well who needs a drink at 9am? I guess on vacation, I do! However, that is a very trivial thing but I thought I should have one negative.
If you are cruising to Cozumel, I recommend you consider this as an option for your day. It is not a cruise excursion offered through any cruise line that I am aware of. You will need to book it through online ahead of time through their website. You will get your $55 worth in food, drinks, service and atmosphere!
There is a limited amount of 100 admissions they allow in a day, so I recommend that you make reservations through their website as soon as you are certain you want to go. They will send you confirmation within 24 hours and take a $24 deposit. You pay the remaining balance in cash once you arrive.
Have you ever visited Nachi Cocom? Do you have a place you also recommend for Cozumel cruise excursions?
