I love Royal Caribbean cruises for many reasons. But I especially love when I take a RCL cruise that stops at their private island of Labadee in Haiti.
The Best Cruise Excursion
Royal Caribbean has two private island stops on their Caribbean cruise itineraries. The Western Caribbean itinerary often stops at the Labadee, Haiti port. There are a number of activity options while visiting Labadee. Some activities include snorkeling, boating, the aqua park and private cabana rentals.
Read about our experience at the private cabanas in Labadee, Haiti.
But taking the 2,500 foot flight is an experience you will not forget. I have taken the Dragon’s Breath Zipline excursion three times because I love it that much.

Details of Dragon’s Breath Cruise Excursion
You can prebook the Dragon’s Breath excursion prior to your cruise or wait until you get onboard your Royal Caribbean cruise ship. After arriving in Labadee, you will walk to the Flight check-in booth where you sign your waiver (of course they are not liable for any injuries). Then they will get you strapped up and give you safety and flight instructions.
There is a short test flight that allows you to practice the best flight position and how to come into the landing platform.
Everyone on the excursion then takes a ride up to the launching platform, which is 500 feet above the beaches. There are five zip lines, so your turn comes rather quickly no matter where you are in line. The Royal Caribbean staff help you get attached to the line, you sit back and go!
The ride is amazing. Feels like you are flying. Unlike all other ziplines I have experienced, this one allows you to just enjoy the ride and take in the breathtaking views as you zip 40-50 mph down to Dragon’s Rock.
As you get closer to the landing zone, you will put your arms on the bar above your head and pull down to slow your speed before hitting the stopper. Staff members will help you get down.
The zip line ends at Dragon’s Rock, where you can watch a continuous flow of zipliners or head to the Dragon’s Breath bar to end the excursion with the popular Labadoozie frozen beverage.
Does this sound like fun to you? Is there an attraction or excursion that you love so much you repeat it everytime you go to that destination?
I would love to hear about it. Share in the comments!
