Legoland Pirate Island Hotel is technically part of the original Legoland Hotel. They share the same entrance and you will check-in at the same front desk area. But the Legoland Pirate Island Hotel has an entire separate space, pool restaurant, and play area dedicated to the “LEGO pirate” theme.

THE PIRATE THEMED ROOMS AT LEGOLAND “ARRR” BEAUTIFUL AND BUILT FOR FAMILIES

Legoland is known for saying that they are “built for kids.” And I find this more accurate with each new thing they add to the resort, including the special touches of this new Florida hotel.

In fact, there are so many little details that make kids feel like this place is just for them. For example, there’s a kid-sized peephole in the door and a kid-friendly Legoland newspaper delivered to your door in the morning. The in-room treasure hunt is still being talked about today!

As a family of 5, it’s not always easy to find hotel rooms that actually fit us comfortably. However, the Legoland Pirate Island Hotel family room fit our family perfectly! You will transform your family vacation into a unique pirate adventure the minute you walk into the immersive themed rooms.

-Arrive early; Parking is free if you have a room reservation. So regardless of your early morning arrival time, you can enjoy an entire day at the park or the hotel pool while waiting for your room.
-Breakfast is free, so make breakfast reservations at check-in
-Book the LEGO Master-Classes soon as you arrive because spots are limited each day. The projects change daily. *This was one of their favorite things to do on the trip.
-Don’t forget your swimsuits, because the pool is nice and heated!
-Take advantage of the nightly entertainment. Grab a drink before dinner while letting the kids play.
-Take a ride on the interactive elevators 🙂
-The food is really good. No need to plan to eat off property!
-Wifi is free throughout the entire Legoland property. *Important for remote working mommas like myself.

EATING AT LEGOLAND HOTEL

I am not always impressed with the food served at Legoland, both hotels and in park. So I am happy to report back that we had two great meals during our trip to Pirate Island.

Here are the dining options at Legoland Pirate Island Hotel:

  • Shipwreck Restaurant– features the resort’s first family-style dining option. They serve bountiful platters sure to satisfy all kinds of pirate palates for both breakfast and dinner.
  • The Complimentary breakfast includes a breakfast skillet to share including eggs, pancakes, sausage and bacon. Served with sides of fruit, muffins and cereal if you want.
  • Smuggler’s Bar, offers local Grove Roots beer on draft, made-to-order signature cocktails and kid-friendly “mocktails.” This restaurant is located right next to the pirate-themed play area, where nightly activities are held. So that makes it easy for parents to enjoy some time together, while still watching the kids have fun.

You are also welcome to dine at the restaurants at the main Legoland Hotel as well. I personally always enjoy the Skyline, so we ate dinner there right before the kids took the Master builder class. Then we enjoyed drinks from the bar while they were building.

TIP: As soon as you check into the hotel make sure you sign the kids up for the master-builder classes because there are limited spots and they fill up fast. HOWEVER, if it is full, I suggest you go at a time and wait to see if there are any no-shows… because unfortunately, people sign up all the time and never show.

LEGOLAND IS A SAFE AND CLEAN VACATION SPOT IN FLORIDA

During our August visit to Legoland Florida, we felt completely safe. All of the employees are wearing masks, and all guests over the age of 7 are required to do so also. There are sanitizing stations located everywhere within the hotel as well as the park. Temperature checks are required prior to entry to the hotel and the theme park. In the theme park, rides and attractions are sanitized often and guests are spaced out.

We felt secure and it looked as clean as ever. This is a difficult year for Florida tourism and most businesses;  Legoland was doing their very best to keep guests safe and happy. Be sure to check out this page of their website to find the full list of how Legoland is protecting your safety.
