The Sunrise Safari at The Ritz
During a recent stay at The Ritz-Carlton, we joined a Certified Florida Master Naturalists on a guided trip around the 500 acre Grande Lakes Orlando resort property. We met at the Golf Club to hop on an all-terrain golf cart to look for wildlife. You will have a chance to observe and photograph whitetail deer, bobcat, North American river otter, fox, raccoons, alligators, and a host of birds ranging from Great Horned Owls to roseate spoonbills. This is the perfect setting for an up-close look at the flora and fauna which defines the Sunshine State.
This is an extremely popular excursion with limited availability; making reservations early is highly recommended. You need to allow at least two hours for the excursion, ours took about 2.5 hours.
Seeing the onsite farm
You will also visit Whisper Creek Farm on the Sunrise Safari Eco Tour at The Rit-Carlton Orlando, GrandeLakes Resort. This onsite farm features a chicken coop, quail pen and a 7,000 square foot vegetable and fruit garden that provides many ingredients used in restaurant dishes and beverages at the resort.
