There is no denying that it is always 5 O’Clock in Hollywood Beach Florida.  Margaritaville Hollywood Beach Resort is located between Fort Lauderdale and Miami, in one of Florida’s East Coast gems – Hollywood. Typically relaxed and luxury do not go together. But in the case of this kid-friendly South Florida hotel, it does.

Beachfront, Kid-friendly South Florida Resort with a Relaxed Atmosphere and Luxury Amenities

From the moment you walk into the Margaritaville Hollywood Beach Resort you truly feel like you are in a tropical paradise of upscale proportions. The large flip flop immediately gets your attention as you walk in the front door, where you will then notice the massive margarita glass-shaped chandelier and as your interest peeks, you will see cool antique surfboards from Jimmy Buffett’s personal collection.  While waiting to check in, you can grab a cup of the cold, refreshing fruit water to cool off. As you wander around little coves of comfy paradise await. Signs everywhere reminding you that life is good, margaritas are plentiful and you are here to chill! I particularly loved the one by the North lobby elevator that says “When life gives you limes, make margaritas.”

This 349-room hotel is inspired by Jimmy Buffet lyrics, setting a casual, coastal theme. The rooms are bright, spacious, and comfortable. The entire property makes you feel like you are on an island somewhere. My room had a stunning view from the balcony, king bed, chair, desk, flat screen tv (, closet, small safe, and foyer area (perfect for leaving the beach stuff). The bathroom was large with a two sink vanity, large shower and a toilet closet. And most importantly to chill, comfy bath robes provided to use during your stay.

Dining at Margaritaville Beach Resort is plentiful

The dining options for this size resort is impressive with eight distinct bar and restaurants on property.
As you might expect, there is a Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville Restaurant, which serves breakfast, lunch and dinner and offers live entertainment most nights. The two-story poolside LandShark Bar & Grill (check out the menu) is popular for both guests and beach-goers. This was my favorite pool day eatery- delicious margaritas! There is the License to Chill Bar located on the 11th floor terrace, which offers an incredible view of Hollywood Beach and reserved for hotel guests only. The JWB Prime Steak and Seafood is an upscale dining concept that is located within the main lobby and reservations are recommended for this dinner option. The 5 o’Clock Somewhere Bar & Grill is across the street from the hotel facing the Intracoastal Waterway and perfect for a close night out! Other food and drink options include the Lone Palm Beach Bar, Floridays Airstream Café and the Margaritaville Coffee Shop.

Water Fun: Beautiful beach, three pools, SUP and a Flow Rider

Guests at the Margaritaville Hollywood Beach Resort have free use of beach chairs and an umbrella on prime beach space in front of the hotel. The three pools are also only for guests staying at the hotel, so no worries about overcrowding or no lounge chairs. One pool is a perfect spot a fun day of swimming for the entire family because it has a waterfall and slide while being located right next to the Landshark Bar and Grill.  The pool next to it is a more quiet spot complete with cabanas to rent. And lastly the pool on the 11th floor is super peaceful while offering fantastic views of the beach.  The Flow Rider is available for both hotel guests and the public. You need to purchase tickets for a specific time slot to simulate a surfing experience…be careful, you will wipe out!  Across the street, next to the 5 O’Clock Somewhere Bar is a small but fun day or night hangout. Here you can rent kayaks and paddle boards to explore the mangroves of the Intercoastal waterways. They even have electric paddle boards for those who are wanting to participate without all the active work.

I recommend calling Sean Collins at 954-825-6956 to reserve your paddle board or kayak to ensure you get to experience this cool activity while visiting the hotel.
